Seasonal Eggnog Mocha

This chocolatey and caffeinated twist on a seasonal classic will spread cheer at your next holiday celebration. Delicious hot or cold! Enjoy as is - OR add in a shot of your preferred spirit to turn it into a cocktail that is sure to warm your core.


INGREDIENTS PER SERVING

1 cup Alexandre Family Farm A2/A2 Organic Homegrown Eggnog, divided into ½ cup portions
½ cup Alexandre Family Farm A2/A2 Organic Chocolate Milk
1 tsp instant coffee granules
½ tsp vanilla extract
A pinch of fine, freshly ground coffee (for topping)

Optional:
2 Tbsp of spiced rum, vodka, or any preferred spirit


METHOD

FOR HOT DRINK: In a small saucepan, combine ½ cup eggnog with the chocolate milk and instant coffee granules. Warm over low-medium heat and stir until the instant coffee granules fully dissolve. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and (optional) your preferred spirit, and carefully pour the hot mixture into a mug. Return the saucepan to the heat and pour in the remaining eggnog. Heat just until steam begins to rise. Remove from heat and use a handheld frother or mixer to froth the warmed eggnog until it doubles in size. Top off the hot drink with the frothed eggnog and lightly sprinkle a pinch of freshly ground coffee on top.

FOR COLD DRINK: In a small bowl, combine ½ cup eggnog with the chocolate milk, instant coffee granules, and vanilla extract. Stir until the instant coffee granules mostly dissolve, about 30-60 sec. (Optional) Lightly stir in your preferred spirit and pour the mixture into a mug. Heat up the remaining eggnog just until steam begins to rise (either in a saucepan on the stove for about 1 min or microwaved in a mug for about 30 sec). Use a handheld frother or mixer to froth the warmed eggnog until it doubles in size. Top off the cold drink with the frothed eggnog and lightly sprinkle a pinch of freshly ground coffee on top.


Makes approximately one 8 oz drink or 9 oz cocktail
