Traditional whole milk yogurt and cucumber sauce with fresh herbs. Tzatziki is refreshing sauce or dip with proteins and vegetables. This recipe can be prepared with any plain Alexandre Family Farm yogurt.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups grated cucumber (2 whole cucumbers, grated on the large holes of your box cheese grater)
1 ½ cups 100% Grass-Fed Yogurt from Alexandre Family Farm
¼ cup fresh dill and/or mint
2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 garlic clove, grated or pressed
½ tsp sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Grate one cucumber at a time. Place grated cucumber in a sieve and squeeze out excess liquid. Place in medium mixing bowl. Repeat with the remaining cucumber.
Add yogurt, herbs, olive oil, lemon juice and sea salt to bowl with the grated cucumber. Mix well to combine.
Chill for 10 minutes before serving. Add additional herbs to taste.
NOTES
This recipe holds well for 4-5 days.
This recipe can be prepared with any plain Alexandre Family Farm plain yogurt. Don’t use flavored yogurt for this recipe.
You can use dill, mint, parsley or a mix for this recipe.
Makes approximately 2-1/2 cups.
