Frozen Yogurts with A2/A2 Organic Milk and Yogurt

*These recipes require a homemade ice cream maker (or KitchenAid Mixer attachment)

CHOCOLATE FROZEN YOGURT

A lower fat treat with rich texture and satisfying chocolate flavor!

Preparation: About 5 to 10 minutes; 20 to 25 minutes chilling time; optional 2 hours to ‘ripen’ in the freezer.
Makes 8 servings

1 cup A2/A2 organic whole milk
2 cups A2/A2 organic vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup organic coconut or cane sugar, or other sweetener of your choice
6 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate chopped

Combine the milk and chocolate in a saucepan and place over low heat. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and sweetener is dissolved.  Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until completely cool.  Add the yogurt and stir until smooth.  Pour into the ice cream maker freezer bowl, turn the machine on, and let mix until thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes.  If desired, transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and place in freezer until firm — about two hours to ripen.

VERY BERRY FROZEN YOGURT

We always use fresh berries in season, but frozen berries make this a year-round treat!

Preparation: About 15 to 20 minutes; 20 to 25 minutes chilling time; optional 2 hours to ‘ripen’ in freezer.
Makes about 8 servings

½ cup A2/A2 organic whole milk
2 cups A2/A2 organic vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup organic coconut or cane sugar, or other sweetener of your choice
1 cup fresh or 12 ounce bag frozen berries; Pureed and strained to remove seeds.

Combine the yogurt, milk and sugar in a medium mixing bowl; using a hand mixer on medium speed, mix until sugar is dissolved, about one and a half to two minutes. With the mixer on low speed add the berry puree and mix until combined, about 30 to 40 seconds.  Pour into the ice cream maker freezer bowl, turn the machine on, and let mix until thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes.  If desired, transfer frozen yogurt to an airtight container and place in freezer until firm — about two hours to ripen.
