Joseph Alexandre, 5th Generation
Humboldt Manager, Analyst
Joseph is a thoughtful, methodical man. He thinks deeply and takes the time to answer, never saying 3 words when 2 will do. He graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with an MBA; also earning a BS in Ag business and a minor in dairy science. He met his wife, Alexa, a high school ag teacher, while at school and they are now the 5th generation of Alexandre’s dairying on Sage Road in Ferndale: Joseph’s great-great grandfather started dairying there in 1926. Like most farmers, Joseph wears many hats: He is the analyst for all aspects of the Alexandre business, producing the accounting, pricing, milk logistics and management reports for the dairy operations and the brand, and he also leads a team of 17 in managing the Alexandre’s dairies in Humboldt County in Ferndale, and Eureka – the 100% grass-fed dairy. Active in the community, in 2021 Joseph became President of the Humboldt County Farm Bureau and a member of the Salt River Watershed Council, Eel River Groundwater Working Group, and sits on the board of the Northcoast Regional Land Trust. He hopes to ensure the productivity of working lands – with a perspective of working with nature, down to the microbiology of the soil, which has played such an integral part in his upbringing and is the foundation of the family businesses.
